Overview of Requirements
BHP Jimblebar maintenance team required a hydraulic jacking system to lift and isolate BHP’s vibrating feeders for periodic maintenance. Due to the large size, weight and uneven geometry of the feeder structure, the Hydraulic Power Unit and Hydraulic Cylinders were required to lift the structure evenly to the required maintenance height. The system was also to have design components to include safety interlocks in the event of hydraulic pressure loss.
Solution
A fully enclosed hydraulic power unit:
- 316 SS construction
- In built hydraulic reservoir
- Electrically operated Enerpac pump/motor unit
- Control manifold to ensure even lift and lowering of feeder structure
- Simple, 3 button Remote pendant control
- 4 x 15 m hose assemblies with integrated storage for connections to Enerpac rams
- Forklift pocket, lift points and castor wheels on HPU enclosure
